Billy Eugene Beasley Sr.

BEASLEY DANBURY Billy Eugene Beasley, Sr.,91, passed away early Saturday morning, February 12, 2022, at his home. Billy was born on August 7, 1930, in Forsyth County to the late James Walter and Ada Lee Hudson Beasley. He was a longtime member of Oak Grove Moravian Church. Billy proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was also a member of the VFW Post 1134 in Winston Salem. He loved gardening, mowing his yard, as well as hunting and fishing. Billy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his son, Billy Eugene Beasley, Jr., great granddaughter, Kelcie Saunders, and two brothers, Troy, and James Beasley. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Hazel Keaton Beasley, two daughters, Karen B. Smith (Wayne), and Penny Everhart (Danny), and four grandchildren, Ashley Fletcher (Marcus), Kenneth Wayne Smith, Jr. (Brandi), Jimmy Martin (Heather), and Kristy S. Saunders. There will be a 2:00 pm funeral service held on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Oak Grove Moravian Church, 120 Hammock Farm Road, Winston Salem, NC 27105 with Pastor David Berrier officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, February 16, 2022, from 6:00pm till 8:00 pm at Burroughs Funeral Home.
