Cathy Mitchell Taylor

TAYLOR WALNUT COVE Cathy Mitchell Taylor, 69, went home to be with her Lord Friday morning, January 28, 2022, at LifeBrite Community Hospital of Stokes County. Cathy was born in Forsyth County to the late Ralph and Margaret Smith Mitchell. She was a member of Friends Baptist Church. Cathy was family-oriented, loved to read and travel. She also enjoyed sewing and collecting antiques with her husband. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her former husbands, Albert Edward Taylor, Jr., and Luther Linwood Briggs, and a sister, Pamela Gail Isom. Cathy is survived by her 2 children, James Troy Merritt, and Ivy Merritt Lane; 2 grandchildren, Camden Shane Meredith, and Silas Merritt Lane; 3 sisters, Bonnie Jean Jobe, Elizabeth Camilla Gibson, and Mary Ann Bennett, and 2 brothers, Daniel “Danny” Wade Mitchell, and David Ralph Mitchell. There will be a visitation held on Monday evening January 31, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Burroughs Funeral Home. There will be no formal services for Mrs. Taylor. Social distancing guidelines will be observed, and facial coverings are required. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston Salem, NC 27103 or to LifeBrite Nursing Home, 1570 North Carolina 8 & NC-89, Danbury, NC 27016.
