SOUTHERN GERMANTON Dorothy Ann Williams Southern, 69, passed away Monday afternoon, April 4, 2022 at Forsyth Medical Center. Dorothy was born on February 21, 1953 in Guilford County, to the late Howard Leonard and Nealie Virginia Williams. She attended Union Gospel Baptist Church. Dorothy loved watching wrestling and Days of Our Lives. She enjoyed being outdoors and planting flowers. Dorothy loved her family most of all. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her sister, Rosie Collins; and her brother, Howard Leroy Williams. She is survived by her 2 children, Angie Phillips (Paul) and Thomas A. Bakich, Sr.; 6 grandchildren, Savannah Denise Hawks, Courtney Ruthann Hawks, and Thomas “TJ” A. Bakich, Jr., Timothy Wayne Phillips, Thomas Allen Phillips, and Christine Davis; great grandchild, Timothy James Phillips; brother, Joe Williams; and her special friend, Ann Tilley. There will be a 2:00 pm funeral service held on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Burroughs Chapel with Pastor Wayne Marion and Pastor Darrell Hampton officiating. Burial will follow at Union Gospel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 6 – 8 pm at Burroughs Funeral Home and other times at her daughter, Angie Phillips.
