Florence Nightingale McGee Bowman Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

BOWMAN WALNUT COVE Florence Nightingale McGee Bowman, 92, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday afternoon, July 5, 2022, at her home. Florence was born on February 13, 1930, to the late Charlie Peter and Nannie J. Reid McGee. She was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church and was a babysitter for many years, caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Along with her husband, she enjoyed running Bowman’s Green House for over 30 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gray Poindexter Bowman; and her sister, Betty Bowman. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Brim (Richard); 2 grandchildren, Brandon Brim (Brittany) and Dustin Brim (Elizabeth); 4 great grandchildren, Briar Brim, Bowman Brim, Rosemary Brim, and Emery Brim; and a sister, Virginia Woods. There will be an 11:00 am graveside service held on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Gardens of Memory with Pastor Frank Shumate officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 8, 2022, from 9:00 am – 10:00 am am at Burroughs Funeral Home and other times at the home.
