Johnny Wintford Shelton

SHELTON WALKERTOWN Johnny Wintford Shelton, Sr., 87, went home to be his Lord Friday morning March 25, 2022 at his home. Johnny was born in Stokes County, NC on June 5, 1934 to the late John and Minnie Lawson Shelton. He owned J and A Sales and attended New Hope Baptist Church. Johnny loved bluegrass music, NASCAR racing and watching westerns. He was a people person, and he loved his dog, “Lucky.” Johnny was an amazing dad and grandfather, and his family was the most important thing in his life. In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Hennis Shelton; daughter, Windy Shelton; son, Johnny W. Shelton, Jr.; grandson, Josh Shelton, and brothers, Akres, Worth, Curtis and Maynard Shelton. Johnny is survived by his children, Jackie Dean Shelton (Sharon), Susie Hilton, Vickie Branch (Roberto Ortega), and Barry J. Shelton; grandchildren, Kimberly, Dana, Daniel, Leah, and Justin; great grandchildren, Danasia, Braxton and Olivia; sister, Evelyn Riggs and brother, Lester Shelton. There will be a 12:00 pm funeral service held on Tuesday March 29, 2022 at the Burroughs Chapel with Pastor Charles Carver and Mr. Lester Shelton officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am-12:00 pm on Tuesday March 29, 2022 at Burroughs Funeral Home.
