Ralph Marler Oakley Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

OAKLEY WINSTON SALEM Ralph Marler Oakley, better known as “PA”, 96, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at the age of 96 at the home of his daughter, Susan. Ralph was born on July 6, 1926, in Forsyth County to the late William E. and Louella Hill Oakley. He attended Salem Chapel Christian Church. Ralph was the owner/operator of Oakley Tire and Battery for over 35 years. He was a WWII Veteran. Ralph was a member of Walnut Cove Masonic Lodge, where he was presided as Master. He was also a past District Deputy Grand Master. Ralph loved woodworking after his retirement. He made furniture, toys for his grandkids, birds and canes. He was always willing to help neighbors, friends, and family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Shrewsbury Oakley; 3 brothers, Lawrence Oakley, Kermit Oakley, and Isaac Oakley; 2 sisters, Sandra Roberts and Betty Wilson. He is survived by his loving daughter, Susan Walker and husband Wesley; 2 grandchildren, Austin Walker and wife Jessica and Ashley Neace and husband, Chris; 1 great granddaughter, Emilia Neace; special sister in law, Vivian Oakley; brother in law, Bob Shrewsbury; and 3 special caregivers, Emma Henderson, Crystal Jones, and Kim Seymour. There will be an 11:00 am graveside service held on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Gardens of Memory, Walkertown with Chaplain Randy Hillman officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
