Sherman Edgar Bullins Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

BULLINS WALNUT COVE Sherman Edgar Bullins, 84, passed away Wednesday morning, June 29, 2022, at Lifebrite Community Hospital of Stokes. Sherman was born on June 9, 1938, in Stokes County to the late Simon Peter and Hallie Bullins and attended Meadows Baptist Church. He was a lifelong farmer and retired from Stokes County as a watershed employee with more than 40 years of service. Sherman was also a part time truck driver. He loved getting outside and riding around and also enjoyed going to the Red Rooster to eat breakfast every morning. His ultimate passion was seeing his children, grandchildren, and their families. In addition to his parents, Sherman was preceded in death by his sisters, Ila Wall, Gladys Moore, Violet Thomas, Katherine Branch, Lola Ashby, and Vera Ann Bullins; and a brother, Holland Bullins. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Zeola Ann Throckmorton Bullins; 3 children, Sherman Odell Bullins (Vicky), Annette Gentry (Ricky), and Judy Hole (Mark); grandchildren, Dekota Bullins, Jennifer Tolbert (Jake), Jamie Gentry (Virgil), Brandi Boyles (Matt), Nicholas Hole (Amanda), and Ricki Hope Darden (Rob); great grandchildren, Jessica Thompson (Rudy), Dallas Bray (Gracie), Weiss Boyles, Mackenzie Boyles, Stacy Ore, Cameron Darden, and Brooklyn Darden; great great grandchildren, Lukas Thompson and Ava Bray; and his 2 brothers, Robert Bullins and Henry Bullins. There will be an 11:00 am funeral service held on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Meadows Baptist Church with Pastor Ricky Craig officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 1, 2022, from 6 – 8 pm at Burroughs Funeral Home.
