LAWSON KERNERSVILLE Virginia Blaylock Lawson, 94, of Kernersville, NC went home to be with the Lord on March 15, 2022 at Kerner Ridge Assisted Living. Virginia was born on March 5, 1928 in Patrick County, VA. To the late Wesley Blaylock and Frances Blaylock. Preceding her in death was her husband, Charles Glenn Lawson, with whom she enjoyed 63 years of life before his departing on November 3, 2009. Her brothers Fred Blaylock, Paul Blaylock, James Blaylock, Robert Blaylock, Ralph Blaylock, and one special sister, Evelyn Blaylock Baugh. She is survived by her three loving sisters, Irene Blaylock Holt of Stuart, VA, Ruth Jernigan (Sam) of Newport, Rhode Island, and Nellie Blaylock Knight (John) of Richmond, VA. Virginia retired from Adam-Mills in Kernersville. She was known for her faith and love of Jesus. She had an amazing gift of sharing love and encouragement. As a homemaker, she loved to cook. One of her greatest pleasures was preparing a meal for her family and friends. She was creative and talented in so many ways with quilting, sewing, crocheting, and canning for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed many months in the summer spent at a family farm in Virginia with her late husband. There, she gardened and shared the fruits of her labor whereby she cooked and entertained friends, family, and grandchildren. She always had a love of flowers and caring for the birds. Her yard was always abundant with the many flowers she grew. Virginia always encouraged her family and friends to look on the bright side and find the good in all humanity. Compassion and caring for others set her apart. She was a loving mother and nanny who was so proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her surviving children and grandchildren, David Lawson (Katherine) of Winston Salem, NC; Charlotte Jumper (Stephen) of Walkertown, NC; Jerry Lawson (Melinda) of Winston Salem, NC; Steve Lawson (Angie) of Spring, Texas. She was a nanny to her beloved 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, Angie Lawson Bullins (Dean), Wesley and Maggie Bullins; Kelly Lawson Ninh (Bao), Kennedy Ninh; Tamara Woody Sullivan (Jason), Matthew and Spencer Sullivan; Candice Woody Champe, (Brian) Caroline and Reagan Champe, Luke Aaron Lawson (Marla), Brody and Jaxton Lawson, Matthew Lawson (Elyse) and Shepherd Lawson; Morgan Lawson and Michael Lawson. In addition to numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Burroughs Chapel with Pastor Cliff Willis and Rev. Wesley Bullins officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory, Walkertown, NC. The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Burroughs Funeral Home. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers friends and staff at Kerner Ridge for providing her a home for 11 wonderful years.
