Walter Louis Lash Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

LASH WALNUT COVE Walter Louis Lash, 84, died Thursday evening, June 30, 2022 at his home. Walter was born in Stokes County on February 24,1938 to the late Arthur, Sr. and Mattie Bell Scales Lash. He was retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company with 30 years of service and was a member at Baileytown Christian Church. Walter enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved his little dog. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Daryl Lash, Sr.; grandson, Kendrick Quincy Joyner; brothers, Arthur Lash, Jr. and Harrison “Pedie” Lash (Laura), and sister, Mary E. “Tut” Lash. Walter is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Demeatrice Webster Lash; children, Sandra Lash Joyner and Timothy Eugene Lash; grandchildren, Kristofor Darnell Joyner (Cassandra), Rodney Daryl Lash, Jr. and Skylar Addison Martin; nephews, Donnie Lash and CJ Bailey; nieces, Tina Mitchell and Mildred Laverne Newman; and his sister’s-in-law, Maxine Scales Lash and Clara M. Webster. There will be a 1:00 pm memorial service held on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Burroughs Chapel with Rev. Gregory Hairston officiating.
