LANE WALNUT COVE “We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.” - 2 Corinthians 5:8 It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Bonnie Lane, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, on June 14th, 2024. Her life was a testament to her deep love for God, her daughter Olivia, her dedication to family, her dogs, and her passion for travel. Bonnie was a devoted Christian and an active member of First Baptist Church of Walnut Cove. Her faith was the guiding light in her life, and she found great fulfillment in serving others through volunteer work such as Meals on Wheels and participating in mission trips. Her dedication to her church and her community brought her immense joy. A lover of literature, Bonnie found great delight in reading, with a special fondness for the works of Jane Austen. Her favorite book, “To Kill A Mockingbird,” held a cherished place in her heart. Reading provided her with a deep sense of contentment and an escape into the worlds of her beloved characters. Although she never participated in sports herself, Bonnie was an enthusiastic spectator. She enjoyed watching various sports and found great delight in supporting her daughter Olivia as she grew up, participating in multiple sports. Olivia was the light of her life, and she cherished every moment of watching her daughter’s athletic endeavors and personal growth. A passionate traveler, Bonnie had a love for exploring new places and cultures. Among her travels, she had a fondness for England, reveling in its rich history and picturesque landscapes. Her adventures around the world brought her great joy and unforgettable memories. Bonnie was a wonderful sister, always there with a listening ear, a kind word, and a helping hand. Her bond with her siblings was strong and enduring, marked by love, support, and shared memories that will be treasured forever. As a mother, Bonnie was a source of unconditional love and support for her daughter Olivia. She took immense pride in watching her grow and flourish. Preceded in death by her father Albin Lane, her mother Gertrude (Tilley) Lane, and her brother Richard Lane. Bonnie is survived by her daughter Olivia Lane, sisters Daphne Lane, Jacqueline Lane, and Barbara (Lane) Sapp. As well as her nephews Jason Sapp, Wayne Sapp (Jennifer), Scott Lane, her niece Susan Feriola (Clay), cousin Patricia Nelson, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of friends who will miss her dearly. Her legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her. There will be a 1:00pm Memorial Service held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 with Pastor AJ Reynolds and Pastor Jim Cohn officiating at First Baptist Church of Walnut Cove, 415 Summit St, Walnut Cove.
