Krystal Sunshine Fagg

Krystal Sunshine Fagg, 37, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 9, 2025 surrounded by her family at Beacon Place after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on July 29, 1987 in Winston Salem, NC to Mark and Rhonda Fagg. From her golden red hair to her sweet and sunny personality, Sunshine definitely lived up to her name! She was a friend to everyone and never met a stranger. She loved to talk and could make conversation with anyone (probably why she never met a stranger!). She was a fun person, enjoyed adventures, and loved to laugh--she always kept a positive outlook on life. She loved to spend time with her fiancé, her family and her friends. She enjoyed going to parks, festivals, picnics, the beach, the zoo, concerts, and the movies; participating in church activities; spending time outdoors—the list goes on and on. She also enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends just hanging out at Sunday dinners, cookouts, and holiday celebrations, just talking and laughing. And she was generous—she would do anything to help anyone and would give you the shirt off her back and her last dollar if you needed it. Sunshine loved her fiancé (Casey) and her family and friends, but she especially loved her children. She was a wonderful mom to Rylie and Corben, and she loved to plan fun things to do with them. She enjoyed cooking with them, at home spa dates, movies, game nights and arcade trips, taking them for ice cream, smoothies, and sushi, and just hanging out with them in general. Her loving spirit also extended to her young nephews and cousins--she baby-sat for all of them when they were small and would take care of them as if they were her own. Her love for children even extended to her career choice, as she worked in childcare her entire adult life. She was employed at Northwest Day School, where she was well-loved by her students, their parents, and her work family. Sunshine also loved music and dance. She spent over 25 years performing and teaching with CC Dance Company of Madison. When she was younger, she would perform praise dances at church with her sister Summer and best friend Brittany. She loved all music but she especially loved classic rock, most recently attending an Alice Cooper concert in February. The Wizard of Oz was her favorite movie—she liked all things related to the movie and she often watched it with her children. One of her favorite past times was cooking, and she enjoyed trying new foods and cooking new recipes. Everyone enjoyed many of her dishes but her sweet potato casserole was a favorite family dish that was requested every Thanksgiving! Most importantly of all, Sunshine loved God! She was a member of Faith of God Ministries in Walkertown, NC and also attended Bethesda Methodist Church in Madison, NC. She was surrounded by a loving congregation at both churches, and she loved her church families. Her passing has left a hole that cannot be filled, but we know she is in Heaven with Jesus and her Nanny and PawPaw, who loved her immensely. Sunshine was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, James, Sr. and Delorese Shelton Fagg, and her maternal grandparents, Carey Odell and Joanne Roberts Willis. She is survived by her parents, Mark and Rhonda Willis Fagg; her fiancé, Casey Holman; her two precious children, Rylie Fagg and Corben Holman; her sister, Summer May (Tiffany); her aunts and uncles--Karie and Kevin Martin, Richard Willis, Joell Beth and Jimmy Montgomery, Sharon Sands, Wilma Fagg, and Rita Fagg and also her aunts/uncles by choice--Shelby Beasley, Kathy and Steve Flynn, and Wanda Tilley; her great-aunts, Bonnie Roberts and Karen Shelton; nephews RJ and Luke May; cousins Jake and Josh Montgomery; and future in-laws Cory and Janelle Holman. She also is survived by many, many other cousins and friends including her lifelong childhood friends—Brittany, Janell, Stacey, Elizabeth, Suzanne, Matthew, Leslie, and Michael. Thank you to all who have prayed and stood in faith for her, and thank you for all the calls, messages, and visits to her. A celebration of life and memorial service will be held Saturday, April 19 at 2:00 PM at Faith of God Ministries in Walkertown, NC with Ryan Bovender and John Howard presiding. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service, and other times at the home of Mark and Rhonda Fagg.
