Lenwood Lee Hicks

HICKS MOUNT AIRY Lenwood Lee Hicks, lovingly known as “BUCK”, left this earthly life on January 2, 2023, at the age of 74. Buck was born to the late Mary Etta and Lenwood Lee Hicks of Nash County, North Carolina. Buck was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and enjoyed sharing stories of the many places he visited during his time in the service. He enjoyed may things in life, including his life-long passion for truck driving, fishing, painting, traveling (especially to Emerald Isle), recently… cooking, and he absolutely loved watching the Carolina Panthers games with his wife. His favorite thing above all others, was spending time with his family. Buck never met a stranger, and enjoyed conversation with any, and everyone he met. He will be missed by those who knew him, for his sense of humor and witty nature. His family will remember him most for being a loving, hard-working, sacrificial husband, daddy, and papa. Buck was preceded in death by his parents and beloved son, Kelly Ray Hicks. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, the love of his life, his wife of 38 years, Debbie Hicks. As they always said to one another, “I love you forever and always, no matter what”, and no saying could have defined their love better, as they lived those words each and every day. Also left to cherish his memory, are his children, Scott Hicks (Katie), Randy Hicks, Destry Leonard (Cathy), Melissa “Dawn” Hicks (Charlie), Robin Hicks (David); sisters, Carolyn Lamm, and Peggy Lewis (Kenneth); grandchildren, Amanda Larouche (James), Rebecca Evans (Andrew), Jason Evans, Austin Evans (Rebecca), Caleb Hicks, David Meredith, Brianna Hicks, Katelynn Meredith, Alyssa Hicks, Zachary Hicks; great granddaughters, Kaylee, Kinsley, and Kyndall; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as his beloved dog “Nitro”. Per his wishes, no formal services will be held, instead, as he requested, a celebration of life will be held in his hometown of Nashville, NC. Details will be provided to family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, as Buck was an avid donor.
